Metal Shark Aluminum Boats Honored By Louisiana Economic Development Association

Jeanerette, LA – June, 2009: The Louisiana Economic Development and Louisiana Industrial Development Association have honored Metal Shark Aluminum Boats with the 2009 Lantern Award. The award recognizes companies that have shown local community contribution, employment growth, and continuous facility expansion over a minimum period of three years.

“We were very excited when we heard the news about this award,” said Donna Gravois, chief financial officer at Metal Shark. “Not only does it recognize our company’s growth and prosperity, but it is a clear indication that we have been able to add jobs and help support our local community for several years running. We are already projecting continued growth and look forward to adding more jobs as we move towards the future.”

The Lantern Award was established in 1979, and is presented to awarded companies during a special ceremony held at the Louisiana governor’s mansion.

Metal Shark Boats is an industry leading manufacturer of all-welded aluminum military, law enforcement, fire/rescue, and commercial boats. Some of Metal Sharks greatest successes included two major US Coast Guard Contracts, as well as contracts with the US Navy, Us Army, and law enforcement agencies across the United States.
