The 28 Courageous features a proven Metal Shark hull design that has been engineered and built to deliver maximum reliability. To achieve its superior hull life rating, the vessel’s hull, deck, and console are composed entirely of heavy, precision-welded plates of corrosion-resistant 5086 aluminum-magnesium alloy. With twin outboard power, the 28 Courageous planes quickly and offers responsive handling. Top speed when powered by twin 250HP outboard four stroke engines is in excess of 45 knots. Metal Shark is an OEM supplier for all major outboard brands and can rig according to customer preference or fleet commonality requirements.

With its pronounced flared bow and wide beam that is carried very far forward, the 28 Courageous boasts an extraordinarily roomy cockpit. The vessel features a massive foredeck with ample freeboard and serves as an ideal working platform. An optional electric davit adds extra utility. An available removable door greatly facilitates water entry. This door latches securely in place when not in use.

The 28 Courageous features a welded aluminum console which is available with an integrated extended hard top that covers the entire aft cockpit, providing shelter during rescue/recovery missions. Aft-mounted ladders provide easy access to the top’s non-skid coated working surface, where removable rails allow a crew to work alongside elevated structures. A short T-top, Bimini top, full canvas enclosure, and other top options are available. A full-height console windshield provides protection from the elements and enables all-weather operation. A full curtain enclosure may be added. At the helm, a large dash area easily accommodates all controls and electronics, allowing for ideal placement and easy, intuitive operation. Like all Metal Sharks, the 28 Courageous is a fully custom vessel that is built to order, so the customer may determine the dash components as well as their layout.
